Arab Women Union

Workshops Empowerment

These workshops offer women a place to unwind, find strength, and grow together. We talk about everyday experiences, do meditation and breathing exercises, draw, and in each session we discuss an important theme with an expert.

The themes are:

  1. Self-confidence and self-esteem
  2. Health, nutrition, and lifestyle
  3. Family and home life
  4. Sexual health
  5. Presenting yourself
  6. Work and education

Each session combines rest, reflection, creativity, and connection with other women. We work in simple Dutch, and everyone is welcome—regardless of background or language level.

Arab Women Unions in Europe

Across many European countries, Arab Women’s Unions are currently being established and connected through a growing international network. The first union was founded in Germany (Berlin). With support from this initiative, unions have since been launched in Sweden and the Netherlands, and Belgium is now preparing to establish its own Arab Women’s Union. More countries are expected to follow this year.

In the autumn of 2025, a major symposium of Arab Women’s Unions took place in Berlin, bringing together representatives from across Europe. These unions are also affiliated with the League of Arab States, and for that reason representatives from several Arab embassies were present and contributed to the program.

This kind of unity is powerful and necessary. Since the experiences and challenges Arab women face in different countries often share many similarities, it is invaluable to learn from one another, exchange knowledge, and offer mutual support. More European symposiums and other joint activities will undoubtedly follow as this collaboration continues to grow.
